Credits
What things cost
Every AI job in Forge is paid in credits. This is what each one typically costs, from real jobs, so you can see where your credits go before you start.
- Before a job starts, the app shows its estimate and the most it can cost. A job is never charged more than that maximum.
- Before a project’s first scan, the app estimates what each scan would cost on that project, for free and without AI. Claude Haiku 4.5 then reads the file list and manifests (never your source code) to say what each scan would look at; the first one per project is free.
- A re-scan when nothing changed since the last scan is free: Forge sees it and doesn’t call the AI.
- Default is the model Forge picks for that job. You can choose another in the app; cheaper models cost fewer credits.
- Tested figures come from Forge’s own measured runs; the others from recent jobs people ran. Bigger projects and longer conversations land higher in the range.
The plans and their monthly credits are on Pricing, and which model each job uses on Models.
